Submitting guest data to the police is a legal requirement in Spain
Under Organic Law 4/2015 on Citizen Security (the so-called ley mordaza), all tourist accommodation in Spain must submit a traveller report to the authorities within 24 hours of arrival — including weekends and public holidays. Failing to comply or submitting incorrect data is a serious infringement subject to fines of up to €30,000.
SES.Hospedajes is the digital system created by the Ministry of the Interior to centralise these submissions. All tourist apartments, holiday rentals, rural houses, hotels and bed-and-breakfasts in Spain must use it.

SES.Hospedajes: the Spanish traveller registration system
SES.Hospedajes (Sistema de Entrada y Salida de viajeros para establecimientos de Hospedaje) is the digital platform of the Spanish Ministry of the Interior for recording traveller arrivals and departures.
It replaced the old paper-based partes de entrada in 2023. All tourist accommodation must now submit data within 24 hours via the web portal or via the official API — which is exactly what Gotocheck uses.

What is SES.Hospedajes and who must comply? +
SES.Hospedajes is the Spanish online platform for submitting traveller data from holiday rentals and hotels to the National Police (Policía Nacional), Civil Guard (Guardia Civil), Mossos d'Esquadra or Ertzaintza. Any accommodation in Spain that takes in guests must report within 24 hours of arrival. This includes holiday apartments, rural houses, hotels, tourist rooms and any property that accommodates paying guests.
What guest data must be submitted to SES.Hospedajes? +
The system requires: full name, document type and number, date of birth, nationality, country of residence, address, check-in and check-out date, support reference and, if the guest is a minor, the data of the accompanying adult. Gotocheck collects and submits all these fields automatically.

What happens if a submission fails? +
