Under the Immigration (Hotel Records) Order 1972, all accommodation must record guests aged 16 and over. For guests who are not British, Irish or Commonwealth nationals, you must also record their passport number and place of issue, and their next destination (with address, if known). Records must be kept for at least 12 months and made available to police on request.
